Our next Shabbat Open house will be Friday November 4, in Jackson Heights.

Please bring any entrée, appetizer or dessert.

No meat, please. Fish and dairy are fine.

Directions:

From the Grand Central Pkwy East,
 Take exit 10E to the LIE Eastbound.
 Take the exit to Van Wyck Expy South/Kennedy Airport.
 Take the exit toward Flushing Meadows Corona Rd/69 Rd/Jewel Ave
 Merge R onto Meadow Lake Rd West.

Continue to follow Meadow Lake as it bears right, all the way around the lake,
past two ballfields and back to the west side (next to the Grand Central.)
 The parking lot will be just before Ballfield #15.
 
This trip takes ca. 10 minutes.

Rosh Hashanah

Evening Service: Wednesday September 28, 8pm

Morning Service: Thursday September 29, 10am.

Yom Kippur

Community Methodist Church, 81-10 35th Avenue, Jackson Heights,Library.

Kol Nidre:  Friday October 7, 8pm.

Morning Service: Saturday October 8,  10am

Afternoon Service: Yizkor: 1:00 PM, followed by a break; 4:30 PM followed by Havdalah

Break-Fast: Juice, water and some light refreshments will be served at the end.

All services conducted by Rabbi Laurie Gold.

Admission to all high holidays services is free for members, $100 for non-members. Children are free. No one will be excluded  due to financial hardship.

Yizkor and Ne’ilah are free and open to the public.

for a Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance) event,

Monday, May 2, 2011 at 6:30pm at the Jackson Heights Jewish Center. 

Members of the community who are Holocaust survivors will speak.  Author and Holocaust survivor Bernard Otterman will read from his book Black Grass.

Costume parade, raffle, a raucous reading of “The Whole Megillah (Purim Story / Scroll)–Almost”,hamentashen (special Purim cookies) and other holiday refreshments! Sing, dance, party and shake off those winter blues with friends of all ages! Our festivities will be led by Rabbi Regina Sandler-Phillips.
