Kehillat Tikvah’s Tot Shabbat is a high-energy monthly program led by member families. It features singing, dancing, and storytelling followed by blessings, snacks, and free play. Our monthly gatherings are an opportunity to celebrate Shabbat as a community and to observe highlights of the Jewish calendar, including holidays, festivals, and other seasonal themes. Our Tot Shabbat program is primarily geared toward children up to age six and their caregivers, but all are welcome to participate.
Our first Tot Shabbat will be held on September 24th at 10:00 am in Room 7 of the Community Methodist Church (81-10 35th Avenue in Jackson Heights). We will prepare the little ones for the upcoming holiday with a Rosh Hashanah theme. Complete schedule is below.
The annual cost per family is $225 (tax deductible) for 10 sessions and free for members of Kehillat Tikvah. New participants may try one session at no cost. Your payment will allow us to rent the space and provide kiddush (challah, juice, and seasonal treats) at our monthly program. Nobody will be turned away due to financial hardship.
